Potential canon divergent Angelic Buster backstory W.I.P

So I've just finished writing two chapters worth for Angelic Buster's backstory. While I'm not going to post it on her bio just yet, I do however want to share it with you guys already!

It's long so it'll be under the keep reading thingy.

DO NOTE that this is my interpretation of her, including my headcanons and such. In a way this might deviate from the canon Angelic Buster, but I hope you guys like it regardless!

Chapter 0 – Prequal | Tear, the orphan

Tear was a unique nova, born in Helliseum without a tail and magic, but was raised just like any other nova at the time: with caring parents even if she got teased and got bullied a little bit. It was mostly a normal life for her until the day Helliseum got taken over by the forces of the transcendent of life and death: Gerand Damoor, as her parents who tried to flee to Pantheon got slaughtered by one of Damoor’s army-- which Magnus, the tyrannical ruler who currently resides in Helliseum’s castle rules over, leaving Tear as the only one in her family to successfully flee to Pantheon at the age of 7.

But while she was safe in Pantheon from the army, she wasn’t safe from the bullying, being made fun of for lacking tail and magic. It send tears in her eyes, even more so after experiencing the trauma that was the death of both her parents while thee three ran away from Helliseum. While she was crying-- balling her eyes out, one wise elderly lady noticed her and took her in. It was Fenelle, one of the priestesses who worked at Pantheon’s Temple and is known in the village as a wise and kind priestess, who didn’t mind taking refugees in, especially youngsters like Tear.

While most kids in the orphanage still bullied her for Tear’s lack of tail and magic, there were at least two young boys who stood up for her and protected her: Kyle and Velderoth, who were also both orphans from Helliseum. It was there where they first met and quickly became friends. They were first and only friends for most of her childhood.

They played pretend-knights together, traveled across Pantheon fields, even build a little base the three made themselves, with Tear flexing her creative side. While it was crude, the three enjoyed it and decided to call it the Helliseum force hideout in honor to the name of their team they wanted to form once they grew old enough to join in the military.

It was a bond that Tear forever cherished, no matter what happened.

Not long after they’ve finished the base, the three exchanged what they wished to become. For Tear she wanted to be a hero of Justice, a thing Kyle sympathized and respects, while Velderoth, while not against it, felt like it’s just something only kids would want.

But one thing was for certain: on the day they finished the hideout, the three promised to become knights that will help liberate their former homes from Magnus’ and Damoor’s rule.

It stayed like this for years and Tear, with the help of her two friends, grew a bit stronger. If only fate wasn’t sometimes a cheeky, mischievous little thing.

Chapter 1 – The East Sanctum incident

It was years since Tear ended up in Pantheon’s temple’s orphanage and the Tear who was once a crying 7 year old now grew up to be a 16 year old, one with a stronger heart, yet still being vulnerable to the bullying and since recently harassment. Still, Tear had help from Kyle and Velderoth, who recently became knights working with Cartalion, the current leader of the knights who protect the people within pantheon from Damoor’s forces. And now some of the older people of Pantheon like Cartalion treats Tear with kindness and respect knowing what she’s been going through.

Everyone grew up to take a part of the role they play to help the people liberate Helliseum, all except Tear, who wasn’t able to even make it passed the exams due to the exact same things she lacks that was necessary to be part of the army: the tail to help her steer while flying and more importantly: magic potential to help fend off against Damoor’s threat. It demoralized Tear to do anything to help out and being a priestess or a nun was not something she wanted to become.

However, it wasn’t as if Tear stood idly by. She had some little bits of training here and there with the help of Kyle and Velderoth, who has gotten the proper training and would help her out with some pointers here and there if they had the time and energy, even if it was barely enough time to give her some decent training and on top of that, they had to do it in secret to prevent the now two nova men from getting into trouble for helping someone who is not a part of the military, or in the academy.

But even so, she did do some sort of training-- training she felt like made her one step closer to becoming the thing she wishes to become: a hero of justice.

It all was like that every day until one day Fenelle felt a vision where one of Magnus’ men might attempt to steal the relic located in East Sanctum, which was one of the four Sanctums that doubled as a force field generator to stop Magnus’ army from invading Pantheon.

While Fenelle requested Kyle to check the east sanctum out and make sure the relic is safe as he was the only one available and closest to it, Tear came along to help out on her own free will to give her the feeling that she is useful and is able to help the people she loves, even if she was unarmed and unprepared for the situation.

When the two were in the East Sanctum, some nefarious looking priests who were likely part of Magnus’ army were present in the sanctum and was about to steal the relic. Kyle, who was just a normal knight at the time tried to fend off against these priests, albeit he had issues with the amount of priests currently trying to steal he relic. And some point one of them struck a strong blow and left him unconscious, leaving Tear as the only one. While she was worried for Kyle’s safety, Tear had to focus on the mission: protecting the relic.

Instinctively Tear dashed towards it and took it instead before any of the priests could lay a finger on it and steal it.

But what Tear didn’t expect was that the relic had bind itself to her, before she also got hit with a strong blow from the other priests, causing her to fall unconscious as well.

While the priests cursed themselves for failing their mission, something about Kyle and Tear snapped. While they were still unconscious, an immense power radiated from both of them. One of them was Kyle, who’s power was the sign to all nova that the current Kaiser had awakened it’s power. Tear meanwhile, while still unconscious, her power caused the priest to take heavy damage, before they fled. After that, Tear and Kyle went unconscious.

This would be known as the East Sanctum Incident.

When Tear finally woke up, she realized that she was in the infirmary inside Pantheon’s temple, finding out that Velderoth and Cartalion were the ones who brought Tear and Kyle here. It was there where she also finds out that Kyle was the first one who woke up and that she realized that he now became the current reincarnation of Kaiser.

Tear asked what happened to the relic and if it was safe, but she was informed that the relic was permanently stuck to her right arm as a bracelet that wasn’t willing to be taken off by anyone.

Shocked by what she heard, she was only able to think about one thing: that she had made things worse, potentially doomed them.

Before Fenelle was able to reason with her and calmed her down, a panicked Tear ran off into Pantheon field, hoping to run away from any potential scolding she would’ve faced. There was only one place where Tear would’ve gone to when she needed to vent her frustration.

Chapter 2 – Angelic Buster

Tear, crying and worried, she ran to the one place she felt would be her quiet place: the Helliseum Force hideout. It was there where she could ball her eyes out and vent so that calm down. Though considering that it’s the base of the Helliseum Force, it wasn’t long until Kyle finds her weeping as she sat against the wall, with her legs covering her eyes.

Kyle and Tear had a closer connection than either one had with the rest or even Velderoth. They were close friends so to see her in tears ached Kyle’s chest. He asked if Tear was alright, but Tear told him the truth on how she is feeling right now.

Kyle informed her that while it could’ve gone better, it wasn’t the worst choice that she could’ve made in the situation and on top of that, the relic is now in good hands, so they’ve avoided the risk of Magnus’ army using the relic for any nefarious plans. As for the potential scolding she could’ve gotten? Kyle shook his head, telling her that they were more worried about her well being to scold her and even if they weren’t worried, there was no reason to do so, even if the East Sanctum no longer has a relic meant that the force field is now 25% weaker.

Still, Tear felt bad to take the relic.

The two decided to relax for a few minutes before Kyle had to leave to work on his shift. On top of that, he’s the Kaiser now and thus he has some responsibilities.

While he has left the base, his company did help calm her down a little bit. Still, she didn’t know what to do with the relic. She didn’t have any magic to use it, nor does she like how weird the relic looked. Winged bracelet wasn’t much her style either, so she considered on finding a way to return the relic to the East Sanctum to fix the problem she has made by accident.

As she arrived at the East Sanctum, Tear thought back on the things that has happened, her wishes, everything. Considering she was the only one near the Sanctum, she decided to think aloud about it and her wishes. She wanted to be a hero of justice, but all she did was making things worse.

But she wasn’t alone, there was someone else who was present, someone who was with her ever since she first step foot in the Sanctum during the East Sanctum incident. The voice was manly, burly sounding and sounds like he had a chip on his shoulder with an ego to back it up.

That voice was from the relic itself, which houses an ancient Nova warrior who introduced himself as Eskalade Loraang. Tear asked for how long has he been hearing her, which he replied that it was long enough. The conversation did lead Tear to realize that Eskalade wasn’t really the kind of guy who she would enjoy. Loud and weird too. But Eskalade made a proposal. She wants to be strong and be able to help others? Well she can, but she needs to form a contract with him.

Normally Tear would say no, but not only does Tear not have any way to take off the relic, but she thought that maybe, with that power she might finally be useful. Besides, it wasn’t as if she had any other way of helping out. The military practically didn’t want her and she practically have a powerful relic at hand.

After thinking about it, Tear reluctantly agreed to his proposal. Eskalade, joyous for more reason than one, decided to form their first contract. He tells her how to transform, by shouting at the top of her lounges to say “dress up”.

Tear, already internally having 2nd hand embarrassment, rolled her eyes, but decided to bite the bullet and follow his lead. And after she shouted that phrase, Tear was covered in a blinding flash of light. Once the light disappeared, Tear completely changed looks.

From looking like a normal brown haired Nova, she now looked like a pink haired superhero nova, with blue horns, blue wings, a big wrist mounted dragon head-like weapon and an outfit with a very short purple skirt.

Shocked by the changed and embarrassed already, Tear demanded what all of this is, but Eskalade laughed with joy, complimenting her looks. She once again exclaimed to him what it’s all about. Eskalade told her that it’s part of the contract and it’s also a way to bring forth the full power, even though the last part he was kind of struggling to say it right, making Tear wonder if it’s actually to help her use her power to the fullest or if it’s just for looks only. Though at the same time, it was convenient. She did want to grow stronger, but she didn’t want to worry her friends.

But when Eskalade mentioned something about her and being an idol, that was when Tear knew he was one of those kinds of people. She immediately regrets forming that contract, but even so, she’s in this mess this deep already, why not make it crazier?

A few test against the random monsters in the Pantheon field later and Eskalade told Tear that her voice is as smooth as nails grinding against chalkboard. In other words: she sung terribly.

Tear told him that she didn’t even want to be an idol in the first place. She wants to be a hero of justice, not an idol. Against Eskalade’s better judgment, he devised a plan to help her throat using some of the random materials the monsters dropped. Once they were done and she swallowed the things, her voice weirdly enough sounded much better.

After a little bit more training, Tear started to get the hand of her powers. On top of that, she’s been starting to tolerate her new look a little bit. On top of that, in the beginning she enjoyed the power she is now wielding-- almost a little bit too much.

Soon after that, Eskalade asked if she had a hero name for herself planned already. Tear found that crazy, but after being reminded about the whole secret identity thing, she thinks that maybe a codename was a good idea after all, but she needed to think about it. But she can think of one when they confront someone in Pantheon.

The first person who she bumped into was funnily enough Velderoth and while he did not say it, it was clear that he was head over heels of her look. This was awkward for her to say the least. Once Velderoth asked what her name was, Tear almost wanted to say her own name, but she stopped herself before things got weirder. After a second of thinking, Tear decided to call herself by the name that will be heard across Grandis and Mapleworld:

Angelic Buster – Champion of the little people (and some big ones too).

Tear got tasked to take care of the monsters in the fields. She got that kind of quest a few times from different people, all talking about her, either for how pretty she is, or how weirdly she’s dressed.

Still, she was finally able to help out the people of Pantheon, even if she has to do it under a different name and look.
